Run on Behalf of a Charity
Make your Bank of America Chicago Marathon experience more meaningful by running on behalf of a charity at the 2010 event.

In 2009, a record 8,500 runners dedicated their marathon to a cause greater than themselves, and together they raised nearly $10 million for 123 charitable causes. As a result, the impact of the Chicago Marathon is felt around the world, and no place more significantly than in the local communities that host this great event.

Many charity programs offer marathon training programs, social events and fundraising assistance. All charities offer the opportunity to connect your marathon experience to a great cause.

Charity Spotlight: American Cancer Society
Starting in 2001 with just 14 charities, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon has grown to a record 123 charities in 2009 and shows no signs of slowing down through the selfless efforts of the running community and the hard work of our affiliated non-profit organizations. In total, Chicago Marathon participants have raised nearly $60 million through the Charity Program – an impact that extends well beyond the finish line.

In the build-up to the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, we will feature some of our long-time as well as new and exciting charity partners in our Charity Spotlight. This month, we start with the American Cancer Society DetermiNation, which actually got its start at the 1996 Chicago Marathon. Click here for more.
